Introduction

Malcolm HarlingEnergy efficiency. It has to be one of the key considerations when you source equipment. We all have an individual responsibility to try to reduce our impact on the environment, but energy efficiency makes huge sense for your business, too. Running costs are going to escalate, so savings you make by investing in energy-efficient equipment now will grow every year.

CESA, the Catering Equipment Supplier's Association, represents over 130 catering equipment companies. We focus on providing information and services to help caterers in every sector of the hospitality market.

Right now a significant part of our work is focussed on energy. CESA members are committed to developing kitchen equipment that is more environment-friendly. As the representative body for the industry we are working closely with the Carbon Trust and other environmental agencies to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions from kitchen equipment.

Our members are developing equipment that will cut energy requirements, without compromising performance. They are also looking at ways to save other resources - for example, warewasher manufacturers are developing models that use less water and reduce the consumption of detergents and chemicals.

This website will help determine what to look for, whether you're buying a coffee machine, a fridge, a glass washer or a combi oven.
